NexTCity: Smart Sustainable Cities Moving Forward with Digital Twins
The NexTCity project intends to enhance NOVA IMS's scientific and technological excellence in city digital twins, namely in all their stages of development: data collection and integration; analysis, prediction and simulation; data visualization; and data governance to be used in novel strategies for smart sustainable cities. CITY4CLIMATE: Urban Digital Twins for Climate Action
City4Climate develops a Digital Twin platform to support real-time climate governance in Lisbon, Porto, and Guimarães. By creating 3D virtual models that integrate live data and simulate scenarios such as emissions, air quality, and energy use, the project enables cities to make faster, data-driven decisions. Its goal is to accelerate the path to carbon neutrality while strengthening urban resilience and sustainability. Funded by the Agência para a Reforma Tecnológica do Estado (ARTE), the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), and the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR).
